The other thing that happened in that kitchen that really stuck out for me was when we 4 were in there and all light sources flickered on and off and then stayed off for a few seconds. Meanwhile there was a wicked sound that came from the floor. When the lights all came back on I found the source of the sound - the sheet metal on the floor that was used as a fire shield between the wood stove and the wood floor .... which I happened to be standing on. Didn’t explain everyone’s lights going out at the same time. 😆

Funny, I ran into Barry around 2009 in Seattle while we ( NWPIA ) investigated the Seattle underground. I had no idea who he was back then until one of our investigators explained to me. Anyway, Barry had a great personality and was very fun to hang out with. I started investigating the paranormal around 2005 and started a group called NorthWest Paranormal Investigation Agency. It was an incredible adventure with an incredible team that ended in 2015. And I would never, ever do it again. The politics and hate between the other teams in the area were enough to make anyone sick. So, I shut it down. There were other factors involved that helped with that decision, not just politics. After that, I started night hiking and exploring the PNW back roads with just me and my Jeep wrangler. No more crazy people telling me stories about there portholes in the living rooms or being able to talk to the dead or being attacked by the devil or how Elvis lives in there refrigerator or how some psychic told them they needed to move away because their house was built on an old Indian burial site. Worst and best hobby ever. So just in case, you think you have to do this after walking away for a few years ....don't. It's like cutting open a wound that has been healed for years. It's a waste of your time. Trust me, get on with what you really want to do and film it, you'll be so much happier not living in the past.

My vehicle couldn't make it all the way to Kirwin, so I hiked last 6 miles. Spent the night in the loft of one of the old cabins. Good thing I don't believe in ghosts.

took the kids there this last October. Unfortunately the weather turned and started blowing and snowing, making it miserable to try and see the whole site. we plan to return this summer when weather is nicer. Beautiful area, but long long drive to get back there.

I worked there. I can assure you, you can get great material just by sitting down with a former employee and picking his/her brain for stories. The paranormal stuff is open for debate. History is not. The history is more harrowing than any "bzzz-zzzt" captured on a recorder and marketed as someone saying "Help me" or something.

My ass getting scratched or bit doesn't happen, just because you guys haven't experienced that yet doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Good idea for a video, but to say that nothing can attack that girl, because "regardless of what you see on tv, it doesn't happen" is nonsense. As a paranormal investigator, I take a very rational approach to investigations. That being said, my tech guy got scratched in the attic of Iron Island Museum, in Buffalo, NY. He had 3 layers of clothes on when he said his back was burning, I pulled up his shirts and started taking pics and he had multiple scratches all over his back and in every 3rd picture or so, the scratches became more pronounced. It freaked him out so bad, he quit the team. That was my only experience with that in over 8 years of investigating, so just because you guys haven't experienced it, doesn't mean that it can't happen.

My husband and I have been to Kirwin about 5 times, but never at night. It's an amazing place, not easy to get to, but well worth the insane drive up there! I just hope that after people see this video they won't go charging up there and do anything to deface this wonderful, historical place. You may not know this, but Amelia Earhardt was enamored of that area and had actually started building a cabin near Kirwin. It was never completed due to her disappearance.

The legends you mention sound very interesting! If you have any details you could share, I would be very appreciative if you could email them to us. We have been thinking of working on a project out west and those legends may be like what we are looking for! Even if you just have some detail, I would be happy to research these stories more.

That's cool. I was just wondering because I grew up in the Ozarks and there's quite a few places around here known for ghostly activity. The Crescent Hotel is one, along with a place in Oxford, AR where it is said that a group of people were killed for witchcraft. In West Plains, MO there are several things in the local legends - the dance hall explosion being a central point for some of them. I mostly ask because the history around here is rich, yet few people know anything of it.

CTrax, We do not charge historic locations when we create a documentary for them. Once the documentary is finished, we share rights with them to reproduce the documentary and sell it (at no cost to the location) to raise funds to help preserve the location.

So is this some sort if paid service or something?

These kinds of videos are more fun to watch at night in a dark house.

went when i was 14 (10 years ago) with nothing but a flashlight video camera Needless to say I was terrified. Went to the main buildin to the second floor but thought it was not stabled enough and a bad idea to go further up. Went out and as we walked away, we heard laughter and screaming coming from behind the house (the woods), not even joking around. As I turned around and looked at the house I saw a face in the window looking at us...that's when we ran...unless it was my imagination
